Hello! I am so glad you found me!

Hi Friends,

My name is Tricia and I am the owner and creator of all things screen free. Our story started a few years ago when our daughter Nadelyn was stillborn. I was home with my five year old that summer, and because I did not have the emotional energy to get out of bed, let alone entertain a rambunctious five year old, I let him play waaaay too many video games. One day, I was sick of being home and sick of being depressed, and asked my son if he wanted to go to the park and play ball. He looked at me and said very innocently, "No thanks mommy. I just want to play video games." That was my aha moment. No way was I going to raise that child who didn't want to do anything but play video games.

I have a background in early childhood education and Montessori, and decided to use that knowledge to create screen free activities for him. I created themed worksheets, sensory bins, and craft projects for him that he ended up loving. Friends and family started asking if I could create workbooks for them and here we are today.

I love sharing teaching tips with fellow teachers, moms, grandma's and caregivers, and that is exactly what I intend to do with this blog. I intend to share my favorite parenting books, kids books, screen free activities, and tips and tricks for using sensory bins, busy books, and all things from toddlers to big kids. I am glad you found me and hope you will follow along with me on this crazy journey called Life!
